Privacy Policy
FeatherShot is developed by Kurt Steven Kainzmayer (“we”, “us”). This policy explains how the app handles information. FeatherShot is designed to work locally on your device. We do not operate user accounts and we do not sell personal data.
Information we do not collect
FeatherShot does not require sign-in. We do not collect names, email addresses, or payment information through the app. Screenshots and annotations you create stay on your device unless you choose to save, copy, or share them using system features (for example Finder, clipboard, or another app you open).
Permissions
- Screen capture — Required to capture and annotate screen content. Capture happens on your device; we do not receive your screen images.
- Files and folders — Used when you save exports (for example to your Downloads folder).
- Accessibility or input — On some platforms, optional permissions may be requested only to support capture or global shortcuts. No content is transmitted to us.
Optional network use
Some builds may check whether a newer version is available by contacting GitHub (public release metadata only). This check does not include your screenshots or annotation data. You can use FeatherShot without creating a GitHub account. The desktop app may open our website or GitHub release pages when you choose “download update” or similar actions.
Mac App Store
If you install FeatherShot from the Mac App Store, distribution and updates are provided by Apple under Apple’s terms. Apple may process purchase and device information according to its own privacy policy. FeatherShot itself still does not collect analytics or personal data through our servers.
Children
FeatherShot is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Data retention
We do not store your screenshot content on our servers. Any files you save remain under your control on your device.
Your rights (EEA / UK)
If applicable law grants you rights to access, correct, or delete personal data, contact us below. Because we do not operate accounts or cloud storage for your captures, most requests will concern optional communications you send to us directly.
Changes
We may update this policy. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do. Continued use of the app after changes means you accept the updated policy.
